Welcome!
This post is about what to expect at your Studio Maternity Photoshoot in Hampshire with Starspeckled Hearts Photography. If you have an upcoming studio session booked with me or if you're thinking about booking and would just like to have more of an idea of what to expect, please have a read through this post. I hope you'll find it helpful!
Prior to your session Keepsakes — I always suggest having a think about any keepsakes you would like to include in the session. Perhaps you would like to have baby's ultrasound in one of the photos? Or maybe a pair of baby's tiny shoes or a special teddy? I am always more than happy to accommodate my clients ideas so if there is anything you would like to incorporate into the session, please feel free to bring it along! It makes for a more personalised experience and these photos always end up being client favourites.
Outfits — if you have a maternity gown or outfit you would like to wear for your photoshoot, you are more than welcome to bring it along. I have a selection of over 40 beautiful maternity gowns and dresses available as part of my studio wardrobe, of which you're able to pick and choose on the day.
Clothes for partners and children must be brought along from home, In terms of outfits for partners and children, I always advise to stick with neutrals and often suggest you all wear similar colours in neutral tones.
Your vision — have you got a particular request in terms of colour scheme or overall style of the shoot? Modern, traditional, classic & timeless? If not, that's absolutely fine! Many of my clients have a clear vision of what they'd like to get out of their session, but others prefer to let me take the lead and set up something lovely for them on the day. Either way, please let me know prior to your session as I always set up the studio the night before.
On the day
Upon arrival at the studio — you will receive a warm welcome and be invited in. Once you've all settled, we will have a browse through my studio wardrobe together, to choose your favourite 2-3 dresses/outfits and headpieces. I also have outfits available for children up to the age of 2, of which you will also have full access to during your session.
The photoshoot — once you've changed into your chosen outfit, we will then begin the session! I've got many backdrops in a variety of different colours for you to choose from. If you would like to include your partner and children for some portraits, I will ask them to step into the shot from time to time. Once I'm happy with the variety of the portraits, we can select another gown. My maternity sessions are typically around 1 - 1.5 hours and in that time we can usually get through 2, sometimes 3 different setups/gown changes for studio sessions.
When do I get to view the finished images? After your session, I will go through the images from your session and upload them to an online password protected gallery for you to view. These images will be available for you to view as unedited and watermarked images and will be available to view from the comfort of your own home. This is when you can sit down and select your favourite images from your session. You can take as long as you need and choose as many images as you would like to purchase. You will have 5 images included as part of your package with additional images available to add-on at £20/image. Your final selection of favourite images are then carefully hand-edited and sent across to you via a digital download link. The editing process typically takes anywhere from 2 -4 weeks, depending on my workload and the time of year.
If you have any other questions in regards to my studio maternity sessions, please don't hesitate to get in touch via my contact form here and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Yasmin x
