I am so excited to be able to share a few photos from Baby Niwa's newborn gallery with you all. She came to visit me in my Aldershot, Hampshire studio a couple of months ago with her lovely mummy and daddy. I absolutely LOVE every single image in her gallery.
Baby Niwa was an "older" newborn at 7 weeks old and honestly, she was one of the sleepiest and content babies I've ever had in the studio. I love being able to share galleries like this with my clients to show them that they can still get amazing photos, despite their baby being over the "ideal age" for newborn shoots, which is usually said to be 1-2 weeks.

Ahhh those perfectly chubby cheeks!!! And look at all of that hair! She looks just like a little doll. I couldn't help but gush over her, I simply had to sneak in a few cuddles with this stunning baby girl! So perfectly squishable ♡
I am in love with this adorable pearl embellished pink wrap - I've got them in several different colours as I simply had to have them all! I am a bit of a prop-a-holic, but I feel that by giving my clients plenty of choice, I've got something to suit everyone's taste.
It made it extra special to be able to include these beautiful felted hearts in her newborn session, as her name means "heart" in her parents native language. Just look how snug and cosy she looks, all wrapped up ♡
Did you know that I always leave plenty of time to include family and sibling shots as part of my newborn sessions? For my family shots I suggest wearing similar tones in neutral colours.
Baby Niwa was 7 weeks old on the day of her newborn session and an absolute dream from start to finish - content as they come and so very peaceful. This is exactly why I am happy to book babies in up to 8 weeks for newborn sessions. She loved being wrapped up and was in a deep sleep throughout the entire session.
Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 3 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
If you would like to make a booking, please don't hesitate to get in touch either via my contact form here or send me an email at starspeckledphotography@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
